Dear Kathy,
This poem was written by one of my grandsons about his time at Birch Bay (He got an A+) in a school assignment. He's in the family who also used to stay the week before the entire group came up. AND the whole family agrees with Dan about BIRCH BAY!
Birch Bay
I always like Birch Bay
best
and in the morning you can see a
giant pike jump out of the water
and you can swim in the lake
next to the the cabins
and feel the green grass on your feet
and hearing families laugh
and hearing the smack of the golf club
hitting the ball to the hole
and seeing the wind pick up grandma's kite
and feeling the the waves splash into my face
and here the VanArsdell's boats start up
and hearing the golf ball hit the water
and seeing it skip across the waves
and hearing grandpa's voice during grace
and then taste the char from my dad's burger
grilled minutes before
and we see the sun turn into many colors
and then it finally turns dark
and feel the warmth
of the fire
and then we see the star of the latest SNL
and then we retire back to our cabin
and then we come out side to stare
at the millions of stars
and the we rest to see what the next day brings

Hi Kathy,
We are sorry for being so forgetful, but when 3 senior guys are together, goofy things happen. Our trip was fun and it was great to breath cleaner air and far less traffic - We feel our trip was worth the drive. God bless you and your family.
